Spot is a product developed by Pier Cloud that automates the Spot machine provisioning process so that the customer can save on cloud costs.
Through our product, it is possible to manage, configure, and have visibility into Spot instance opportunities. Before starting:
To use the Spot Module, it is necessary to download and configure a specific role.
Introduction to menus
The idea behind Spot is to make it possible to configure and automate the management of Spot without any major concerns.
For this we have Smart Pricing. In this functionality we have an AI feature, which calculates and chooses a Spot instance based on the choice of a strategy between 3 options:
Balanced: In this strategy we seek a balance between savings and availability. The machines suggested for your Spot Fleet take into account substantial savings compared to the On Demand price, while still preserving availability.
Monthly Average: Using this strategy, The Spot will look for machines that have had the greatest savings in relation to the On Demand price within the last month. When looking at a 30-day period, this strategy always brings significant savings.
Smart Pricing: In this strategy, we will look at the lowest priced instances within your Fleet to maximize your savings on the acquisition of Spot machines.
Every 4 hours, our product is updated on which Spot Instance is most worthwhile. Every time the machine/application/server is disconnected and restarted, the chosen strategy will be taken into consideration, which at the same time meets the requirements and generates savings.
How to get to Spot:
Select the Organization
In the upper right corner select the provider (context) and billing;
In the right corner, select the Spot product.
