Step by step execution:
In Rightsizing, access the RDS functionality:

Settings
The system allows you to configure some settings for RDS Rightsizing.

By clicking on the "settings" option, the AWS RDS Rightsizing settings screen will be displayed:

On this screen, you can specify the instance families you want to exclude from recommendations, with the option to select more than one:

In addition, you can also choose to exclude instances that are under a reservation, so they are not considered in the rightsizing recommendations.

Features and Reports.
Number of monitored accounts: Indicates the number of accounts that are being monitored for recommendations.
Number of resources: Indicates the number of resources available to perform rightsizing actions.
Potential savings: Total monthly savings to be obtained by performing recommendations.

Filters:
In the selected filter box, it is possible to filter recommendations by account ID or resource ID.

In the selected box it is possible to filter the recommendations by region selecting only the region you want.

Report:
Using the button on the right, you can download the recommendations report, which is extracted in CSV format.

View insights information
By clicking on the "
" View Insight button it is possible to have more detailed information about the recommendation.

Information about the resource for which a rightsizing action is recommended is displayed, along with a comparison of the current resources. If the recommended instance family differs from the current one, a warning will be shown indicating the change of the resource family.

Clicking the Apply recommendation button opens a confirmation box to apply the recommendation made.

Further below, you can select the desired period and view the resource’s average CPU usage.

In RDS and ElastiCache services it is possible to have a view of RAM in addition to CPU consumption.
